A Collector Rather Than a Creator of Wisdom

Born into a family where books, thoughtful conversations and timeless values were part of everyday life, Suvas grew up believing that wisdom is one of life's few possessions that becomes more valuable when shared.

Over the years, he has learned from parents, grandparents, teachers, saints, entrepreneurs, colleagues, customers and friends, quietly collecting lessons from each encounter.

Professionally, he has spent over three decades building and leading a family enterprise in the earthmoving and mining industry as Chairman of ITR India Pvt Ltd (formerly Shantilal C Mehta ShanParts Pvt Ltd), representing the third generation of a family business begun in 1947.

The People Who Made Me

Step inside Suvas's home in Mumbai, and the first thing you see in the showcase at the entrance is a photograph of three noble men — his grandfather Shri Shantilal C. Mehta (Kakaji), his father's mama Shri Rajnikant bhai Mehta (Mamaji), and his mother's father Shri Ramniklal bhai Shah (Bapuji).

"Three of the noblest, most honest people I have ever known. Each of them saw the greatness in the other, and never in himself. I place them there on purpose to remind our family every day of whom we value and why. At our home, we better not fill our shelves with what we have achieved. Rather fill them with the people we love, and the people who made us."
